3.  Contact the place where the record is kept...or visit, call, write, e-mail or use the internet for contact.
4.  Record the results of your search on your "research log".  Add any new info on the New Family Search site.
5.  Don't give up.  The information is out there.

  Please go to the "download document" page to print out directions and information in order to proceed with this project.  All you will need is contained in that document.
    This assignment is vital to your future descendants...They won't have to wonder about their family...Your voice and your ancestor's voices will be heard through this document.  Don't give up....Keep going....
   Remember, as you write, to keep things as interesting and entertaining as you can.  Future generations will appreciate any "creativity efforts" you use.

Your "story" can be one of the best gifts you will give / leave for your family and future generations.....There is not a "wrong way"  to accomplish this task....

Use which ever type of structure / style that appeals to you the most.  Writing in 1st person or in 3rd person....journaling photos...using "catch" phrases such as lines from a poem  or song or scriptures...

Remember that it is nice to include photos, drawings, etc. to this project.  It can make the document more interesting and appealing for the reader..

GOOD LUCK AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD...THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS YOU WILL EVER CREATE.
  ***  There are several other ways to present your family &/or personal history if this assignment seems to BIG to proceed with.
     1.  Pedigree Chart
     2.  Family cook books
     3.  Family photo albums  (we have albums designated   
          by the "year" photos were taken) You could start
          with the current year.
